changING – a Research Club in SE²A for High School Students
The lab comprises of groups with 8-12 pupils, 10th-13th grade (all female groups & female-male groups). The groups have own research-questions and access to tools or 3D-printers; access to areas of special interest (flight simulator, wind tunnel). The aim is to convey appreciation and develop ties to the university, leading to a later study decision for one of the participating universities. Accompanying educational research will show whether this new approach is suited to raise self-concept and motivation especially for girls. In the course of the project, it will be possible to follow the network pupils and check their study decision.
Programme for female high school graduates with six-month-internships combined with weekly university visits for attending lectures and laboratory exercises. Exams can be taken, the accomplished credit points are applicable to later enrollment in degree programmes.
