Marie-Skłodowska-Curie-Funding

European mobility for excellent young researchers

The European Commission stands for the promotion of excellent scientists and innovative research approaches. The offered Marie Skłodowska Curie Actions (MSCA) have been part of the Research Framework Programme since FP6; for the period 2021 - 2027, it is entitled Horizon Europe.

The Postdoctoral Fellowships (PF) withitin MSCA support individual research projects by experienced scientist at research institutions inside and outside Europe. They are divided into European Fellowships (EF) and Global Fellowships (GF) and aim to increase transnational and interdisciplinary mobility and the attractiveness of international academic careers.

Project budget

The project budget depends on the duration of the fellowship and consists of monthly allowances for personnel and material costs.

Funding Lines

Eligibility and criteria

All funding lines are reviewed according to the following quality criteria:

  • Excellence of the research project: ambitious objectives, innovative methods and knowledge exchange with the host institution on a high level;
  • Impact of the proposed project: career prospects of the fellow through the fellowship and dissemination of the results of the research project;
  • Quality and efficiency of implementation: work schedule, risk assessment, necessary infrastructure and the funds available for the planned activities are examined for their appropriateness and feasibility;

Personal criteria

As the funding is personal, scientific expertise already acquired and the potential for further development of the applicants is also evaluated. For example, outstanding (international) publications, guest lectures and awards already received are also evaluated. In addition, applicants must fulfil the so-called "mobility rule". This rule states that applicants must not have spent more than twelve months within the last three years in the country in which the research stay is to be carried out.

Our offers

Our support service is available for the following target groups:

Online training for proposal preparation

The online training is divided into 6 parts in which applicants are guided step by step through the application preparation process. It includes online meetings, task lists, supporting documents and Q&A sessions.
