PD Dr. Heiko Stoff teaches history of science, technology and pharmacy at the TU Braunschweig and is a research associaty of the Institute for Medical History, Theory and Ethics at the Hanover Medical School. He studied history as well and German language and literature at Hamburg University, where he also completed his doctorate. After his employment as postgraduate fellow at the presidential commission "The History of the Kaiser Wilhelm Society in National Socialism" of the Max Planck Society and at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin (Section III, Hans-Jörg Rheinberger), he transferred to the Department of the History of Natural Sciences with Emphasis on the History of Pharmacy at the TU Braunschweig, in order to write his habilitation treatise on the history of active substances in the context of the DFG research group on the history of the DFG, 1920-1970. In between, he was a visiting researcher at the DK-plus program "Natural sciences in a historical, philosophical and cultural context" of the University of Wien and at the Institute for the History of Technology of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich. From April 2012 to September 2014, he held the post of Deputy Professor of the History of Science and Technology in the History Seminar of the TU Braunschweig.
