The primary concern is the absence of regulatory level of detail and the potential for regulatory gaps in the homologation of automated level 4 driving functions, as outlined in EU Regulation 2022/1426. In light of regulatory discourses to elucidate and specify requirements, HAIViSH is developing a virtual validation methodology to address the level of detail and potential gaps for the assessment of AD/ADAS systems based on functional equivalence. This methodology will integrate advanced system simulations and AI technologies. A sensor model serves as a concrete example.
