Synfonie

Synergetic innovation network with exchange of methodical and technological knowledge

Synfonie

Research Question and Motivation

A company’s innovation capability is mainly determined by internal process structures and available know how. A constant and systematic evolution of know how as well as the search for future areas of evolutionary activities are important prerequisites for keeping and further expanding this capability for innovation.

Limited personnel and time resources and missing awareness of problems, the above mentioned aspect is often neglected. This is where Synfonie steps in and links partners from different environments. The aim of the innovation network is to identify potential for innovation and, thus, to guarantee high innovation capability to companies.

Synfonie

Aim and approach of the "Innovationsforum Synfonie"

Approach and Project Objective

Synfonie’s approach is to enable companies to reflect and extend their methodical and technological knowledge. Therefore, a network of partners from both industry and research is established. Within this network, company specific as well as general fields of innovation are identified and measures to raise the efficiency of internal process structures and to build up strategies for collaboration are derived.
The aim and approach of Synfonie can be described by the following three tasks:

  • We identify potentials
Together, we explore innovation potential within the development of new products and processes. Potentials may be hidden and often can only be detected and given access to by a systematic analysis. We identify and work on several fields of innovation.
  • We match partners
Inside our network from research and industry, a huge reservoir of knowledge is available. Within the cooperative innovation culture that is initated and established, two types of synergy can be used: the systematic exchange of technological knowledge and the building of methodical competencies for the development of innovations.
  • We develope innovations
The interdisciplinary oriented link and development of potentials, competencies and possibilities for cooperations of each of the partners in the network opens up space for innovations. Intense communication gives crucial impulses for individual as well as joint approaches for the innovative change of products and process structures.

Possibilities for participation and cooperation

You want to become a partner, to discuss current challenges, to expand your knowledge on the methodical development and innovations as well as to develop concrete solution approaches?

We offer:

  • a strong interdisciplinary network of regional companies (mostly from the mid-sized sector) as well as many partners from research
  • company-specific analysis of innovation potentials
  • pilot projects for the implementation of innovation and development methods
  • innovation workshops adressing specific current problems
  • student projects on current problems (TU Braunschweig or Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal)

Results

Building a regional network from both research and industry and moderating the exchange of needs and knowledge, have led to a solid platform for initial collaborations and discussions on current topics within the BMBF-funded project Synfonie of the TU Braunschweig. With formats like “camp fires“ and innovation workshops, potentials were identified, for example in the fields of strategic planning of products and services, design thinking, user centered design, digitalisation as well as process and knowledge management.
