The HighDAC project is dedicated to the development of a novel electronic digital-to-analog converter (DAC) with high bandwidth and high sampling rate. This project explores orthogonal sampling as a new method for integrated electronic signal processing to achieve ultra-fast arbitrary signal generation. The project aims to develop a DAC system with 270 GS/s and an analog bandwidth of 135 GHz using electronic components with low bandwidth and low sampling rates. The goal is to demonstrate a scalable high-speed signal generation architecture using standard CMOS technology that delivers performance far beyond the current state of the art. The system will be tested in optical communication test environments to verify its applicability for data transmission in the Tb/s range. The research will contribute to high-speed communication networks, radar systems, and next-generation measurement technology.
