Description

Initiated by the Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, many students and young adults worldwide have been demonstrating for better climate action since 2018. Master students explored the current phenomenon of the Fridays for Future (FFF) movement in the module "Methods of Communication Research" (master’s program MuK) in the summer semester 2019. Led by Dr. Anne Reif (seminar lecturer) and Prof. Dr. Monika Taddicken (module supervisor), the students conducted their own empirical sub-projects in small groups. They tried out various research methods, including an online survey among FFF participants and qualitative and quantitative surveys of students.

The results of one project group, namely Evelyn Peter, Lisa-Marie Hortig, Alexander Joost and Tamie Gillner, were presented at the ECREA 2021 in Portugal together with Dr. Anne Reif and Prof. Dr. Monika Taddicken and were published in the M&K journal.
