Departure

Check whether all your courses are correctly recorded with grades and ECTS credits in your TU Connect account. If any grades are missing, please contact the respective lecturers. In case of discrepancies, contact the Mobility Office. Once everything is complete, you can download your transcript of records directly from the system. It contains a QR code and is therefore valid without a stamp or signature. If your home university nevertheless requires a signed version, you can request one from the Mobility Office.

If you need a certificate of stay (confirmation of attendance), please send the corresponding form from your home university by email to the Mobility Office. Usually, a digital signature is sufficient. If your home university still requires a signed paper version, please come to the open office hours at the Study Service Centre or arrange an appointment.

Officially deregister from TU Braunschweig before you leave. You can do this in person at the Study Service Centre or online in your student account on TU Connect. Detailed information can be found on the website of the Admissions Office: Further information

If you are living in a dormitory run by the Studierendenwerk, make an appointment for a room inspection at least two weeks before moving out. Rooms must be handed over in a clean, broom-swept condition. Your deposit will be transferred to your account at least six weeks after the end of your contract. Any damages will be deducted from the deposit.

If you have taken out health insurance in Braunschweig, you must cancel it before you leave; otherwise, the contributions will continue to be withdrawn from your account. The same applies to your liability insurance.

If you opened a bank account in Braunschweig, go to your bank and arrange to close it after the final transactions have been completed and the deposit has been refunded. Please also wait until the last health insurance payment has been debited—this usually happens in the following month.

Before leaving Braunschweig, deregister with the Citizens’ Registration Office (Bürgerangelegenheiten) of the City of Braunschweig. This can be done either in person or online.
