Key Projects

2019-2022 Avans partner coordinator for the Erasmus+ Project ICEPELL (Intercultural Citizenship through Picturebooks in Early English Language Learning). ICEPELL won the European Language Label 2022 in Italy 'Label europeo delle lingue 2022' and the European Language Label 2022 in Portugal 'Selo Europeu para as Línguas 2022'.
2018-2021 Coordinator of TAPP: The Avans Picturebook Project, a project developed for second- year student teachers learning to teach picturebook-based PELT.
2018-Present Co-founder of PEPELT (Picturebooks in European Primary English Language Teaching), a not-for-profit online project founded by four European researchers / educators to support primary English language teachers using picturebooks as a teaching resource. PEPELT is a listed resource by the Council of Europe Centre for Modern Languages (ECML) and was a British Council ELTons finalist in 2020. In 2023, PEPELT launched the first online knowledge base of its kind to support picturebook-based ELT.
2015-2017 Avans UoA auditor for the 'B2 English in Curriculum´ project.
2013-2019 Founder of The Little English Library (TLEL), a not-for-profit English children's book project which focused on supporting English language learners and teachers with English children's books. TLEL was a finalist at the 2015 SLA School Library Inspiration Award, a finalist at the British Council ELTons 2016, and a finalist at the Europees Talenlabel Prize 2016.
