Short profile

Professor Knut Baumann has been a professor of Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the Institute for Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the TU Braunschweig since October 2006. He heads a research group that focuses on the development of computer-aided techniques for drug discovery and optimization as well as on the data-analytical evaluation of chemical analysis methods.

Professor Baumann brings a wealth of experience to the department of studies and teaching, including experience as Dean and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences and as Dean of Studies in Pharmacy. In addition, he was active as a member of several senate commissions.

The work packages for the coming years include

• Development and implementation of a quality management system for system accreditation, including the development of a mission statement for teaching and its design,
• Artificial Intelligence in Teaching and Study,
• Development of English language teaching,
• Management of prospective students.
