Climate Protection

How many emissions does TU Braunschweig produce? And how can our university become climate-neutral? What is a realistic timeframe? In order to answer these questions and derive appropriate measures, TU Braunschweig is currently developing an integrated climate protection concept.

Climate Protection Concept

With the development of a integrated climate protection concept, TU Braunschweig is taking an important step towards sustainability and environmental responsibility. In addition to the survey and analysis for carbon footprint accounting, the concept includes in particular the analysis of potentials, the prioritization of climate protection measures and regular sustainability reporting.

In the area of carbon footprint accounting, we are participating in the COUNTS project together with other universities in Lower Saxony to develop a standardized and comparable accounting tool.

In addition to the development of an integrated climate protection concept, many climate protection measures have already been and are being implemented. Savings and increases in efficiency have already been achieved in recent years, particularly in the area of building management and the supply of heat and electricity. The carbon neutrality roadmap sets out specific measures for the year 2025.
