Here you will find the current sports programs for the winter semester with a varied selection of online, outdoor, and indoor courses.
The cross-country course is currently closed. You can use all areas marked in green. You will need the outdoor sports card to use the outdoor sports facilities.
The tartan track can be slippery in places. We therefore ask you to be particularly careful when using it.
In addition, the tartan track will be closed through the Easter weekend due to maintenance work.
The outdoor facility is open and usable on Fridays from 07:00 through the administration building and on Saturdays and Sundays from 09:00 only via the Beethovenstraße entrance. Showers and changing rooms are only available in the Beethovenstraße sports hall at weekends.
We have designated an existing restroom and changing room at both CampusGym and Franz-Liszt-Str. as all-gender restrooms/changing rooms. They can be used by everyone—regardless of gender or gender identity—with immediate effect.
Dear University Sports customers,
We would like to inform you today about an important change:
University Sports has been reclassified for tax purposes by the Lower Saxony Regional Finance Office. As a result of this decision, we are obliged to charge 19% VAT on offers that are not led by a course instructor.
The tax will apply from the booking period for the 2026 summer semester.
The following areas are affected:
Nothing will change for guided courses with course instructors.
This adjustment is necessary because it is required by binding tax regulations. We deeply regret the additional costs this will incur and thank you very much for your understanding.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at any time (sportzentrum@tu-braunschweig.de).
Your University Sports Team
Dear Participants,
The following sports facilities will be closed over the Easter weekend, April 3–6, 2026:
As a result, ALL sports classes and special bookings, as well as subscription bookings and open play, will be suspended during this period. Individual use of our facilities is prohibited.
The University Sports Center administration building at Franz-Liszt-Straße 34, including the office, will also remain closed for the aforementioned period.
We wish you a happy Easter!

We are looking for you to join the TU Braunschweig’s Corporate Health Promotion team as a trainer for the BreakExpress. This is a freelance role.
The 15-minute BreakExpress is a weekly short session offering an active break for staff at TU Braunschweig. The exercise sessions consist of a mix of mobilisation, strengthening and stretching exercises and are specifically tailored to desk-based work. The main focus is on mobilising, strengthening and loosening up the shoulder, neck and back areas.
The German University Championships in judo took place on St. Nicholas weekend. Nine judokas from TU Braunschweig made the long journey to Passau for the event. In a competition team (WG) together with two students from Ostfalia, the team put in a strong performance and ultimately secured the bronze adh winner's pin – despite being understaffed.
The WG Braunschweig won the opening match against the team from the University of Halle by a clear 4:2. The team then faced the eventual winners from the University of Cologne and lost 1:5. At that point, no one could have guessed that this would be their only defeat of the day. In the repechage round against WG Würzburg, Braunschweig once again delivered exciting fights. After a 3:3 tie, a weight class was drawn for the deciding fight, which Philipp (-73 kg) won confidently. In the following match, the judokas had to face WG Münster. Here, too, the score was 3:3 after the six regular fights, which meant another deciding fight. Luck was again on Philipp's side, who scored the decisive point. With a 4:3 victory, WG Braunschweig advanced to the small final – the fight for the bronze medal.
In the last match of the day against WG Munich, Braunschweig had to concede two points without a fight and started with a 0:2 deficit. The first point went to the opponents, the second to WG Braunschweig. Then Munich again, Braunschweig, and Munich once more. In the last regular bout, the Munich athlete initially took the lead before Cornelius turned the fight around and secured a surprising 3:3 draw. For the final fight, the weight category +90 kg was drawn this time, and Cornelius managed to end the fight after only 28 seconds with an ippon score, securing WG the hard-fought 3rd place in a strong field of 18 teams.
The team spirit displayed by the team deserves special mention. Everyone was cheered on loudly and celebrated, which certainly contributed to the team's success. The team would like to thank Tom for his excellent coaching and Phil for organizing the event.
Our newcomers Elia and Felix also found a team for the team competitions thanks to the exchange platform. The Team Newcomers Cup offers all judoka with low belt grades a valuable opportunity to gain competition experience. The day before, seven students from the Technical University of Braunschweig had competed in the individual tournament. Lilian (-48 kg) took 4th place and Cornelius (+100 kg) took 5th place.
All in all, the 2025 DHM was a very successful event for TU Braunschweig at the end of the year – and the long journey was more than worth it.

You've probably already seen Han on our social media accounts. After completing her studies in media sciences, she has been responsible for coordinating public relations since late summer. We have also gained Verena as a student assistant in the same team, whom you will probably see more often on our channels in the future.
Since the summer, Mareike has been taking over the project management in diversity project and ensuring that all our offerings become even more inclusive.
We are excited to see the creativity of all our new colleagues and are very confident that their commitment will enrich the team. We are glad to have you here <3

Since yesterday, the TU Braunschweig's CampusGym has been equipped with new innovative cardio machines that not only take your training to the next level, but also generate electricity in the process. With a ceremony and the participation of about 50 employees of the TU, the equipment was inaugurated by our President Prof. Dr. Angela Ittel and the Head of the University Sports Center Mathias Steiln. NDR television and RTL Nord were also on site and reported on our new equipment. There was also an impressive performance by vertical acrobats Pascal Issa and Alina Unrau, who further enriched the atmosphere with their art.
You can now try out equipment such as 3-in-1 cross trainers, indoor cycles, Stairmasters and treadmills with full commitment and integrate them into your workout. While you work up a sweat, the energy flows back into the power grid.
Who would have thought that your work-out is not just good for your fitness? Come along and train with us to run together towards a greener future!
Our trainers will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about the equipment or your training.
