Automotive Informatics

The module "Automotive Informatics" replaces the module "Software Engineering für Software im Automobil" by Prof. Dr. Ursula Goltz.

  • Lecture: Thursday, 09:45 - 11:15, IZ 160 or Friday, 13:15 - 14:45, IZ 160
    The lecture is organized as a series of lectures by different guest lecturers. All lectures are relevant for the examination. To allow lectures by all guest lecturers, we use the Thursday and Friday slots dynamically.
  • Tutorial: The tutorials will be held weekly on Wednesdays 13:00 to 16:15 and on Thursday from 11:30 to 14:45 in IZ 413a. In the provided time slots for tutorials students can work on provided excercise sheets. Each time slot will be supervised by a research assistant.The tutorial will be in IZ 413a. There will be multiple time slots for tutorials in which students can work on provided excercise sheets. Each time slot will be supervised by a research assistant. The Exact dates for the Tutorials will be provided at the beginning of the new semester
  • Exam: The exam will be an oral portfolio exam (details will be given during the lecture). The oral exams will be between 13.02., 14.02., and 17.02.2020. For the exams the groups x000 and x001 (e.g., group 040 and 041) from the Stud.IP tutorial groups are examined together. The members of the corresponding groups have to sign up for until 17.11.2019 at the institut's secretary (IZ 347).

Organization

The module constists of the lecture and a study achievment. Both, the lecture's exam and the study achievement, have to be completed successfully to pass the module.

 

Study Achievements

During the semester the students have to complete tasks in groups of two students and present them to the associate of the lecture to pass the module. Details will be given in the first lecture.

 

Module description

After completing the module the students know fundamentals, suitable methods and tools for developing software in the automotive domain. The students are able to apply fundamental software development methods for embedded systems with techniques for complexity reduction and quality assurance.

Goals

Goal of the lecture is to give a broad overview of relevant topics related with software development in the automotive domain as part of a series of lectures by different experts. Goal of the study achievements is to give an introduction to tools used within software development techniques in the automotive domain.
