Here we provide you with answers to many questions about our online applications in TUconnect. If you cannot find the answer you are looking for, please contact us at i-amt(at)tu-braunschweig.de .
Guest students currently do not have access to TUconnect and therefore cannot submit online applications.
However, follow-up applications can be sent from a valid TUBS email address as a scan or clearly legible photo (PDF or JPEG format) to i-amt.sc-beratungsbuero(at)tu-braunschweig.de.
Log in to TUconnect with your TUBS ID and click on ‘Service’ → ‘Requests’ → ‘Changes to Personal Data’ in the red link bar at the top. On the next page, click on ‘Create new request’ and select the desired application.
If you wish, you will receive a new TUcard free of charge when you change your name. This can be collected from the Study Service Centre in exchange for your old card and on presentation of your identity card.
Yes, but the name and gender change applies to your displayed name in the system, your study certificates and your transcript of records. We will also issue you with a new TUcard free of charge. However, degree certificates will be issued in your old name until you can provide us with a changed birth certificate or the court decision.
Log in to TUconnect. Go to ‘My Studies’ → ‘Student Self-Service’ → ‘Contact Information’. Click on the pencil icon next to the entry you want to change.
Removal of a block on the submission of the Bachelor's certificate

The bachelor's degree certificate including the diploma is required as proof. For internal TU students, a degree certificate is sufficient as proof. If the certificate of exmatriculation from your last university was not yet available at the time of enrolment, please upload this as well.

Your leave of absence notification will be made available to you online via TUconnect. You can find it in your personal area under ‘My Studies’ → ‘Study Self-Service’ → Requested Reports/Reports’
If your application is rejected, you will receive the notification via your TUBS email address instead.
We recommend that you save these certificates for future reference.
To ensure uninterrupted insurance coverage under the statutory student health insurance scheme, it is advisable to deregister at the end of a semester (31 March or 30 September) when transferring to another university.
Registered examination
If you have registered for an examination, you are obliged to complete the examination until its conclusion. Exmatriculation does not release you from the obligation to take the examination. Please contact your relevant examination office regarding this matter.
TUcard (student ID card)
The TUcard remains in your possession even after you have left the university and can still be used as a library card. However, it may no longer be used as a student ID card.
Refund of fees and charges
If the requested date of exmatriculation is before or within one month after the start of lectures for a semester, the fees and charges paid will be refunded for that semester in accordance with Section 19(6) sentence 4 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act.
Log in to TUconnect with your TUBS ID and click on ‘Service’ → “Requests” → ‘Exmatriculation/Deletion’ in the red link bar at the top. On the next page, click on ‘Create new request’ and select the desired application.
Your certificates of exmatriculation will be made available to you online in TUconnect. You can find them in your personal area under ‘My Studies’ → ‘Study Self-Service’ → Requested Reports/Reports’.
We recommend that you keep the certificates permanently.
For a few students, the certificate of exmatriculation cannot be provided online. In this case, the students concerned will receive a status notification regarding their application. The certificates will then be sent to the TUBS email address.
Any remaining credit on the TUcard can be spent in the Studierendenwerk's canteens and cafeterias until the day of de-registration. If you would like a cash refund, you must first obtain a credit note ("Guthabenverfügung") from the Study Service Centre, which you then hand in at Canteen 1. Please refer to the credit note for further steps.
