Research project

Corrosion assessment and rehabilitation in concrete infrastructures

Thamara Tofeti Lima offer several years of experience in the field of Civil Engineering, including a Bachelor Degree from the Federal University of Uberlandia in Brazil, and, a Masters and a PhD title focused on materials technology and structural durability, obtained at Hanyang University, South Korea. Her main interests of work are methods of corrosion assessment and control, and, the studies of unconventional construction materials. On this sense, she has published relevant papers and a book chapter on the topics of innovative concrete materials and corrosion repair techniques in important international journals. Currently, she is working with assessment of corrosion risks in infrastructure concrete components and the investigation of coupled aggressive conditions on corrosion initiation. On her new prospects as a researcher, she is interested on working with the modelling of deterioration mechanisms for infrastructure facilities and the possibility of establishing better definitions on the life cycle of aging structures, which is very favored by the GRK group, since collaborations will be necessary.
