On 25 November 2025, the Braunschweig Environmental Award, which emerged from the Climate Protection Award and the Nature Conservation Award, was presented for the first time. Dr Michael Strohbach from the Department of Landscape Ecology was a member of the jury, which also included council members Antoinette von Gronefeld, Rochus Jonas and Detlef Kühn, the city's nature conservation officer Klaus Herman, and Anne Scheler, a graduate of our programme and current employee of the Green Office at TU Braunschweig. He was delighted to give the laudatory speech for three school garden projects that shared third place in the ‘School Projects’ category. Special congratulations also go to FUN Hondelage, with whom we have a long-standing research partnership, for first place in the ‘Private Individuals & Groups’ category.
