Publishing

According to § 12 of the PhD-regulations, you as a PhD-candidate have the duty to publish your thesis within one year after successfully passing the defense.

There are several possibilities how to publish your thesis, please contact the PhD-office for further information.
You may also have a look at the university library's site  (contact person is Mrs. Globisch, Tel.: 0531-391-5024).

The various options for publication can be found in § 12, Annex 11 of the phd-regulations.

PLEASE NOTE: You can only get your PhD-certificate and hold the doctoral degree "Dr. rer. nat." after your thesis has been published!!!

The revision certificate, signed by all reviewers, must be submitted by the time of publication at the latest and serves as a print release. You will be informed of any changes to the content directly after the defense. If necessary, these must be listed on a DIN A4 sheet and attached to the revision slip.

Please submit the printed copies of your approved thesis to the Faculty of Life Sciences first together with the revision slip. The PhD-office in notifying the  University Library that you have successfully completed your doctoral program.

Once the University Library's Thesis Office has reconfirmed the complete publication, your doctoral certificate can be issued to you. You are entitled to use your doctoral title only AFTER your diploma has been issued.
