Thesis Office

The Thesis Office of Braunschweig University Library accepts all compulsory deliveries of thesis and habilitation publications produced within Technische Universität Braunschweig and provides a confirmation which is necessary for receiving Doctoral Certificate. The University Library integrates the publications into its collection and makes them available to other libraries.

The deposit copies can be handed in during the opening hours of the Central Information Desk (until half an hour before it closes) in the entrance area of the University Library. If possible, please bring the pre-filled Submission receipt with you, which will be countersigned by us. This is not yet the confirmation for the faculty, on which basis the certificate will be issued.

The confirmation for the faculty is usually issued on the following working day after it is reviewed by the Thesis Office and sent to your faculty. You will receive a notification via e-mail.

The regulations for handing in deposit copies are defined in the Doctoral Regulations of the different faculties or in the Joint Habilitation Regulations. The number of copies to be submitted as well as further links to the respective doctoral regulations are available in an overview.

All copies to be submitted must contain a title page updated after the oral examination. Please read the appendices of the Doctoral Regulations that apply to you for specifications on this as well as restrictions regarding the format (DIN A4, DIN A5, etc.).

The printed copies should be printed on non-ageing, wood-free and acid-free paper (according to DIN EN ISO 9706), preferably double-sided, and bound in a durable manner (binding without metal staples if possible, no spiral binding).
