The IT governance bodies

The four boards of IT governance deal with different areas of information technology and digitalisation at TU Braunschweig. They are strongly connected with each other and work together very closely. Particular attention is paid to IT security, for which the Chief Information Security Officer has the main responsibility. The department in charge is headed by the Senior Vice President for Digitalisation and Sustainability.

CIO Board

The CIO Board collectively assumes the function of the CIO (Chief Information Officer). It is responsible for the strategic planning of IT-related measures and fields of action and develops recommendations for action for the Executive Board in consultation with the other boards.

IT Security Board

The IT Security Board acts as a security team in accordance with the existing IT Security Regulations. It develops guidelines and regulations for the proper establishment of appropriate protective measures with regard to IT infrastructure, IT processes and data worthy of protection at TU Braunschweig.

Chief Information Security Officer

The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) is responsible for designing, implementing and monitoring the information security process.

IT-User Board

The IT User Board is responsible for defining requirements and needs for IT-related infrastructure, processes and services of the central and decentralised organisational units of TU Braunschweig.

IT Multi-Project Management Board

The core task of the IT Multi-Project Management Board is the cross-project management of requirements and change regarding IT projects at TU Braunschweig. This also includes the preparation of recommendations for action on resource management and project prioritisation for the CIO Board and the Executive Board.
