A CERT, or Computer Emergency Response Team, is an organization or group of experts that specializes in dealing with cyber emergencies and security incidents. The primary role of a CERT is to respond to security incidents, identify and remediate vulnerabilities, and help organizations improve their cybersecurity practices.

The TU-BS CERT is integrated into the CISO office and is the central reporting and communication point for information security incidents. The CISO team provides services for TU Braunschweig in the following areas:

Reactive services

  • Responding to security-related events and incidents (incident response) in connection with computer misuse
  • Coordination of the investigation of security incidents
  • Computer forensic investigations

Consulting services

  • Advice on information and computer security
  • Examination of technical and organizational measures for computer security
  • Collaboration in the creation and publication of security guidelines
