Target group: Students of all semesters and disciplines, as well as doctoral candidates and graduates in the early stages of their careers, particularly those interested in the following fields: mechanical engineering, battery and hydrogen technology, chemistry, chemical engineering, metrology and measurement technology, as well as all other engineering courses.
Language: German
Participants can expect a varied program with presentations on various areas of work, a tour of laboratories and facilities, and testimonials from alumni. In addition, there will be an opportunity to talk to employees and learn more about career opportunities at the institute.
The following program items are planned:
- Welcome and introduction to Fraunhofer IST
- Areas of work at Fraunhofer IST (sustainable battery and hydrogen systems, optical systems and applications, simulation and digital services, circular products and processes)
- Tour of the institute
- Experience reports from two alumni of TU Braunschweig
- Career opportunities at Fraunhofer IST
Our cooperation partner about itself:
At the Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Films IST, we tap into the potential for sustainable products and associated competitive, scalable production systems. Our research covers plant engineering, entire process chains in process engineering, process technology, and manufacturing technology, right through to the consideration of entire factories. Based on sustainability requirements, we consider the entire product life cycle – from materials to processes to components and products to recycling.
Speakers from the Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Films IST:
- Christoph Imdahl Habel, M.Sc., Group Manager, Sustainable Factory Systems and Hydrogen Technologies
- Dr. rer. nat. Philipp Farr, Group Manager Precision Optical Coatings
