25 years of Institute for Automotive Management and Industrial Production - Chair of Production and Logistics

This month, the Chair of Production and Logistics celebrates its 25th anniversary. It's a milestone that fills us with pride and joy.

In 1998, Prof. Dr. Thomas S. Spengler was appointed to the Chair of Production and Logistics at Technische Universität Braunschweig and has developed it in over two decades into an internationally recognized address for interdisciplinary research in the field of sustainable production and logistics. Under his supervision, numerous publicly and industrially funded research projects were applied for and processed, and a total of 8 professorships at renowned universities and colleges, 4 habilitations, and 40 doctorates were successfully completed.
Thomas has not only led the AIP team throughout these years but has also held the position of Adjunct Professor for Mechanical, Industrial, and Systems Engineering at the University of Rhode Island since 2014. In addition, due to his reputation and academic achievements, he was appointed to the Wissenschaftsrat (German Science and Humanities Council) in 2020, where he advises the German Federal Government and the federal state governments concerning the development of science, research, and universities.

Thomas, we are very grateful for your continuous support as well as the perfect balance between encouragement and expectations, and we look forward to many more years together.
