Carolo-Wilhelmina-Scholarship

• For a period of two semesters, the scholarship supports you (as a rule) with 400.00 euros per month
• If you look after a child or care for a relative, the grant amount is increased by 100.00 euros (as a rule)

• You are enrolled at the TU Braunschweig in a higher semester
• A successful continuation of your studies is to be expected
• The financing of your studies was secured in the past
• The continuation and/or completion of your studies is now at risk for financial reasons
• You have got into this financial emergency situation through no fault of your own
• You have exhausted all alternative sources of funding or funding options (especially BAföG)

• You apply for a scholarship online via the Stipendienportal

Please note the following instructions:

1. Fill in all the required fields correctly
2. Upload all required documents in full to the portal
3. For a first-time application: You must attend a mandatory appointment with one of the student finance advisors as soon as your application has been fully entered into the sStipendienportal.
4. Your application for a scholarship cannot be accepted without this consultation.

Student financial counseling is provided by:

• Student finance advice from the Student office in the Student Service Center
• Counseling office of the International House in the Study Service Center
• Social counseling of the Studentenwerk in the Study Service Center
• Social Counseling Office of the Student Union Executive Committee (AStA) of the TU Braunschweig

After making an appointment, you must indicate in the Stipendienportal the counseling center you are going to visit.

• The Advisory Board of the Carolo Wilhelmina Foundation deliberates annually on the applications submitted and prepares a decision paper for the Foundation's Board of Directors
  
  It is also guided by the following criteria:
  • Is the application complete (including all necessary attachments, in particular bank statements)?
  • Is the financial emergency plausible?
  • Have other sources (in particular BAföG) been exhausted?
  • Is the monthly amount available below the maximum BAföG rate?

• Scholarship recipients are decided by the Carolo Wilhelmina Foundation's Board of Directors in October/November of each year
• You will then receive feedback on your application by December by e-mail and in the Stipendienportal.

• Precondition: you are currently receiving a Carolo Wilhelmina Scholarship
• You submit an application for an " prolongation" online via the Stipendienportal with all the necessary documents
• You have achieved and proven 40 credit points in the two scholarship semesters
• You must still have the prospect of successfully completing your studies

• The scholarship will continue to be paid during stays abroad or practical training relevant to your studies
• The scholarship will continue to be paid during a leave of absence for a study-related stay abroad
• The scholarship will not be paid during a leave of absence for private reasons

• Please note: Any changes to your financial situation and your studies must be reported to the Carolo Wilhelmina Foundation immediately

• The scholarship ends when your financial situation has sustainably improved

• If you are no longer considered eligible for funding, the scholarship can be cancelled at any time without notice. Any scholarship amounts paid in excess can be reclaimed
• The scholarship ends in the month in which you take your last examination

• The scholarship holder is not obliged to provide any compensation to the foundation
• There is no legal entitlement to a scholarship
• The scholarship holder agrees to the regulations mentioned here
