Unfortunately, we do not have a current call for proposals for this funding!

As part of the ProDiGI funding line, we support your activities in establishing and expanding international and digital teaching at TU Braunschweig. One of our aims is to facilitate the initiation of teaching cooperations and joint teaching projects (e.g. co-teachings) with our partner universities Tampere, Rhode Island and Strathclyde. An important factor for the successful implementation and continuation of teaching cooperations at both partner institutions is the personal contact between the future cooperation partners. In the case of funding by the ProDiGI project, funds will therefore be made available for a reciprocal visit by teaching staff from the University of Tampere, Rhode Island or Strathclyde and TU Braunschweig.

The University of Tampere was formed in 2019 from the merger of the University of Tampere and the Tampere University of Technology (TUT) and cooperates closely with the Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK). 21,000 students and over 4000 members of staff study, teach and conduct research spread across seven faculties representing almost all internationally recognised fields of study. This makes the university one of the most multidisciplinary in Finland. Special emphasis is placed on technology, health and society. In addition, the University of Tampere is working towards an organisational culture that promotes sustainability in teaching and research, development and innovation, and in the university community on campus.

The University of Strathclyde in Glasgow is one of the UK's most internationally renowned technical universities. At four faculties - Engineering, Natural Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Strathclyde Business School, 23,000 students from over 100 countries study and research. Under the motto "The place of useful learning", the university is committed to the UN Sustainable Development Goals in research, teaching and knowledge transfer. In close cooperation with business, industry, government and other policy makers, it strives to accelerate and strengthen innovation and promote social progress, economic success and inclusivity at local, national and international levels.

Founded in 1982, the University of Rhode Island is the leading public research university in Rhode Island and the oldest partner university of TU Braunschweig. At its four campuses in Kingston, Providence, West Greenwich and Narangansett Bay, more than 17,000 students and 1,180 faculty members were teaching, learning and conducting research in 2021. The curriculum includes 203 degree programs in ten faculties, ranging from Biomedical Engineering to Economics and from Geology to Psychology. A particularly unique feature is the five-year International Engineering Program, in which students can simultaneously earn a bachelor's degree in engineering and a bachelor's degree in one of six foreign languages, including German.

Funding for Projects and Its Use

The funding process is as follows:

  1. If the application is successful, a travel allowance of 2,500 euros will be provided to the project so that up to two members of TU Braunschweig’s teaching staff can travel to Tampere, Rhode Island or Glasgow for initial initiation activities.
  2. A short report on the results of the exchange with members of the teaching staff from the partner university must then be submitted. If the report shows a promising development for the initiation of a teaching cooperation, the institute will receive a further grant of 2,500 euros to finance a return visit by the respective partner. Any costs incurred which exceed this grant must be covered by the applying institute itself.
  3. Submission of a final report
