2nd International Conference on Individualized Infection Medicine

19 March 2026 - 21 March 2026

Opening Symposium for the Centre for Individualised Infection Medicine (CiiM), taking place in Hannover, Germany, from March 19–21, 2026.

Infectious diseases remain a major global threat, and the development as well as application of therapies with maximum efficacy and minimum toxicity continue to be a fundamental challenge. New and innovative approaches are therefore crucial to optimize clinical care for patients suffering from or at risk of infectious diseases. Considering the growing impact of individualized medicine, this conference aims to explore how individualization can transform the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of infections.

The meeting will convene distinguished experts and researchers from across the globe to advance the discussion on individualized approaches in infection medicine. Participants can look forward to a highly inspiring program featuring sessions on topics such as:

  • Understanding the heterogeneity of immune responses in health
  • Ancestry effects on immune responses and susceptibility
  • Variation in human responses to vaccination
  • Heterogeneity of immune responses to infection
  • Individualized immune therapy in infection

The conference is organised by the CiiM team in cooperation with Hannover Medical School (MHH), Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) and the Volkswagen Foundation and will include keynote lectures by outstanding international speakerslightning talks and poster presentations selected from submitted abstracts, as well as interactive discussion formats designed to stimulate interdisciplinary exchange.
