Teaching

Teaching in the field of Pharmaceutical Biology is focused on naturally occuring drugs, their composition, the structure and biosynthesis of their constituents, their manufacture, pharmacological activities and medical uses.

Among these drugs are extracts of medicinal plants, pure compounds such as penicilline and morphine but also proteins such as insuline and therapeutic antibodies which are manufactured using biotechnological methods.

Besides classical subjects such as botany and phytochemistry, teaching in the field of Pharmaceutical Biology today also includes lectures and laboratory courses in biochemistry, molecular biology, and immunology.

Classes are held in German. For details, please refer to the German homepage.
