Objectives of the Research Project
The objective of the project is to develop a decentralized disposal concept for wastewater and residual solids. This concept is to be adapted to special conditions of isolated rural zones in ecologically sensitive areas such as high mountain regions or nature protection areas. This new concept will be tested in on full scale within a project in the Malopolska region in Poland.
Special points of interest are:
Within the first part of the Kompex project, the suitability of a modular biofilter for wastewater treatment in combination with a modular sludge drying system was determined. The objective of this second part of the Compex project is to optimize this modular treatment system and prepare its full-scale realization in a pilot project in Poland. Besides technical feasibility, the focus lies especially on economic and ecological aspects. In a final step, the concept will be tested in a full-scale pilot plant in the Malopolska region in Poland.
