Matthäi-Preis

Matthäi

The Matthäi Prize is awarded by the company Matthäi Bauunternehmen GmbH for outstanding student work (bachelor thesis, student research project or master thesis) with a general focus on road construction. The prize is awarded for special projects in which current questions or problems from practice are addressed and answered with creative and productive suggestions for solutions. The prize is endowed with a premium of between 1,000 € and 1,500 €.

EUROVIA-Straßenbau-Preis

Eurovia

EUROVIA GmbH awards the EUROVIA Road Construction Prize for outstanding student research projects and bachelor theses, diploma/master theses or dissertations that have been written in the field of road construction at the Technical University of Braunschweig, Ruhr University Bochum and Technical University Dresden.

The prize includes a bonus of 1,000 €. As a rule, one award per year is made at each of the universities mentioned. The work must have been completed in the current year or in the two years preceding the award ceremony. Eligible for nomination are the professors and lecturers working at the respective universities in the research and teaching fields of road engineering or traffic route construction. A selection committee, chaired by the head of the institute or the head of the professorship and with the participation of a representative of EUROVIA, decides on the awarding of the prize.

Prize winners from the years before 2002

KEMNA-Preis

Kemna

The main focus of the KEMNA Prize, which has been awarded by the KEMNA group of companies since 2008, is all innovative approaches to optimizing the system "asphalt pavement". Especially practice-oriented works, which take up and discuss current questions or problems, are of special interest.

Each chair can submit up to two suitable papers from the respective calendar year. The evaluation scheme consists of the assessment of the professors (25 %, min. grade 2.0), the quality of the work from the KEMNA's point of view (25 %), topicality (25 %) and practical relevance (25 %). The KEMNA prize is endowed with 1.000 €. In addition, each award winner is honoured in a professional journal and in the KEMNA company newspaper.

ViaTec-Preis

ViaTec AG

Since 2019, the ViaTec Prize has been awarded by ViaTec AG, a Swiss-based institute for building materials technology, for outstanding student work (bachelor's or master's thesis) with a focus on recycling in asphalt road construction. The prize is awarded for special works in which current questions or problems concerning the reuse of reclaimed asphalt are dealt with and answered with creative and target-oriented solution proposals. The prize is endowed with a bonus of 1,000 €.

Karl-Lätzsch-Stiftung

In 1961, the Braunschweig building contractor Karl Lätzsch set up a foundation whose interest income is used annually for "study support for needy and capable German road construction students at Braunschweig Technical University".
