In order to take the placement test, you need an account in our booking portal AURA. If you have not previously attended a course at the Language Centre, please register at the following link:
If you have already used the services/attended language courses offered by the Language Centre in the past, please have your registration data ready for the placement test. A new registration is not necessary.
The Spanish placement tests can be taken online at any time.
Try to take the placement test as early as possible before the semester begins so that you can take your desired courses.
You have 25 minutes to complete the test on the computer. However, please take at least 35 minutes for the placement test, as you must first read the instructions and understand the sample test.
C-tests consist of four to five authentic texts in which you have to fill in 100 gaps according to the so-called C-test principle. Starting with the second sentence, the second half of every second word is missing.

Important: Please take the test on your own and do not use any aids! Only this will ensure that you are placed in the course level that suits you best.

At levels A1- B1 you need 4 SWS per level to be upgraded to the next higher level. Each 4 SWS course covers half a level. Example: If you have passed B1.1, you will be upgraded to B1.2. If you have passed B1.2, you will be upgraded to B2. The upgrade is done automatically in AURA.
At level B2 you need 8 SWS to be upgraded to the next higher level, i.e. you must have passed one general language course (e.g. Español B2 para universitarios) of 4 SWS and two specific courses (e.g. Lenguaje especializado para el mundo universitario y profesional). This upgrade is not done automatically in AURA. Please contact the Spanish language department.
If you are unhappy with your placement result, would like to register for a course at a different level or are not sure which course would be suitable for you, please contact the head of the language department.
