Erasmus+ traineeships

There are currently 33 European countries that are members of the Erasmus+ programme. They are called Programme Countries. All other countries are called Partner Countries. Under certain conditions, Erasmus+ traineeships can also be funded in Partner Countries; we will be happy to answer any questions you may have during our office hours.

Overview of Partner Countries

The mobility grant for Erasmus+ internships ranges from €690 to €750 and depends on your destination country. The mobility grant may only cover a part of your internship duration. We therefore recommend that you seek individual advice in advance to best understand your funding options. You can obtain further information during our consultation hours.

Grants may be available for participants with fewer opportunities (e.g., students with children, students with disabilities/chronic illnesses, first-generation graduates, and employed students) and for the use of sustainable means of transport (green travel). The required form "Declaration of Fewer Opportunities and/or Green Travel" can be found in the "Application" tab. Under certain conditions, a claim for actual costs can also be submitted.

IMPORTANT NOTES

• Please note that in the case of blended mobility, only the physical mobility (stay abroad) is eligible for funding.
• Other funding options: Auslands-BAföG (BAföG abroad), educational loan

The start of the trip is usually the TU Braunschweig.

• 2 to 12 months at Bachelor or Master level or for doctoral candidates; maximum 24 month at state examination level
• Blended mobility: physical mobility 5 to 30 days plus virtual component. Only the physical mobility is eligible for funding. To find out whether you fulfil the requirements for blended mobility, please enquire during our office hours.
• Short-term mobility: only for doctoral mobility. Physical mobility 5-30 days.

• Traineeships are eligible for funding from the first year of study. The traineeship must be documented/recognised in the course of studies.
• Visas or other travel permits must be obtained before the start of the mobility; applicants must apply for such permits in good time.
• The internship must be completed on a full-time basis.

• Internships at foreign branches of German organizations, associations, or companies abroad must meet certain requirements. Please contact us before applying.

• Courses at the host institution can not be attended during the internship abroad.

• EU institutions and other EU bodies are not eligible for funding. Click here for the list of non-eligible institutions.

The budget for mobilities in Partner Countries is very limited. Please contact us before applying.

• 31 January: deadline for late applicants for mobilities starting in the second half of the year
