As a language coach from the Faculty of Humanities and Education, you support your international fellow students in improving their language skills. At the same time, you collect valuable didactic experiences.
With your dedication, you contribute to your international fellow students' success in their studies. You promote the linguistic self-confidence of your fellow students and deepen their existing language skills.
How do you do this? By planning interactive lessons or activities as a language coach and thus applying the skills you have aquired through your studies in practice. Additionally, you will create international ties and dare to look beyond your own nose - because your international peers come from a wide range of different degree programmes.
Furthermore, your efforts strengthen the sense of community at TU Braunschweig, because the S.o.S. programme was created at TU Braunschweig and has an impact on the entire university - with many benefits for all who are involved in it.
Students of Faculty 6 can partake in the S.o.S. programme either as part of the practical phase of the DaF/DaZ study programme [website only in German] or as Service Learning Project in the profile module of the Master's (PMA) [website only in German]. Your tasks as a language coach are dependent on the module in which you would like to enrol in the S.o.S. programme:
The allocation of the groups and the organisational arrangements of the S.o.S. programme take place in Stud.IP. After the language coaches have entered their offers, the international students can register in the group of their choice.
The S.o.S. team support and accompanies you during your occupation as language coach and gives tips for intercultural challenges and for designing your tutorials. In a feedback meeting you can exchange ideas with fellow language coaches.
