Prof. Dr. Stefanie Hartz joined the Executive Board on May 1st 2026. She is responsible for all matters relating innovation in teaching.
Prof. Dr Stefanie Hartz has been Professor of Empirical Continuing Education Research at the Institute of Educational Sciences and, at the same time, Scientific Director of the Center of Excellence in Lower Saxon Higher Education (kh:n) at the Technical University of Braunschweig since 2008. After her studies in Educational Science at Saarbrücken and Trier, she worked at the Ruhr University Bochum, at the German Institute for Adult Education – Leibniz Centre for Lifelong Learning and at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen. In her research, she focuses on topics such as governance, structure and management within and of organisations, teaching and learning research, the professional development of teachers, and conditions for knowledge transfer. In doing so, she combines approaches from intervention and implementation research.
For the Teaching Innovation department, Professor Stefanie Hartz brings extensive experience in various committees, including as Vice-Dean, Dean, Deputy Dean and Senator. Since 2008, she has been involved in securing external funding for teaching innovation projects at TU Braunschweig and possesses theoretical, methodological and practical expertise in teaching and learning development.
