Intended learning outcomes:
Optical methods are of enormous importance for visualizing biomolecules, their structures and dynamics. These methods are developing rapidly in the recent years. Students will acquire basic knowledge on modern optical methods in the field of life sciences for imaging and studying molecular interactions. Besides, the state-of-the-art methods are presented in a research-oriented manner to enable students to select the optimal methods for their research questions and further to know which method can provide what kind of knowledge?
Course content:
Lecture / Demonstration / Course Microscopy: Finally, there will be a lecture on own experiments and demonstration experiments including the current equipments used by different working groups. For example, after transformation of plant material, the fluorescence after complementation of the protein adhesions is studied on the confocal laser scanning microscope and evaluated exemplarily.
