Universitat de Barcelona

Established in 1450, UB is the oldest and biggest university of Barcelona, hosting more than 60.000 students every year, 20 percent of them are internationals.

The Department of Electronic and Biomedical Engineering (DEEB) has trained electrical, electronic, biomedical, computer science and communication engineers for more than 30 years, with a staff of 50 professors and more than 100 collaborating professionals, specialized in analog and digital electronics, instrumentation, power electronics, microelectronic design, high-frequency electronics, telecommunications, embedded systems, micro-nano technology and biomedical engineering.

Through our Center for Micro and Nanosystems Engineering for Instrumentation and Communications (CEMIC) we maintain close research and teaching collaborations with local and international companies operating in the Barcelona area. Thanks to that, we can offer our students hands-on training and practical working experience in industry. Our teaching method is learning by doing, which is why 50 percent of our classes are dedicated to labs and projects.
