Guillermo Payá Vayá, Jasper Homann, and Gia Bao Thieu presented current results from the DI-Gate-V project at the Chipdesign Germany Forum 2026 in Dresden.
The project focuses on the development of a highly optimized and configurable soft-core processor family based on the open-source RISC-V instruction set architecture. Its goal is to support the development of modern systems-on-chip solutions through flexible and efficiently deployable IP components. To this end, various microarchitectures are being developed and combined with compiler support as well as an open-source synthesis toolflow. The resulting framework will be released as an open-source solution and demonstrated using example applications on the CologneChip GateMate FPGA.
