PhD Finishing Grant

No more applications possible! It is not yet clear whether there will be a follow-up programme.

The program objective is to support qualified junior female scientists, for whom the completion of their doctorate has been delayed,  in the final phase of their doctorate. Professors can apply for a PhD finishing grant to the Equal Opportunity Office together with the female doctoral candidates they supervise at TU Braunschweig. The prerequisite is that the doctorate has been delayed for family reasons or for reasons of particular hardship and that the previous funding has expired. Funding can only be granted if it is proven by written statement that no other funding can be provided by the applicant's institute.

• Family reasons, for instance: Pregnancy, childrearing and family care responsibilities
• Particular hardship on personal or economic grounds, for instance: Disability, diseases, delays in reasearch which have not been our fault

Candidates who receive funding are expected to have completed their dissertation and submitted it to their faculty by the end of the funding period.

Support period: up to 12 month.

Application deadline:

Beginning of the scholarship between January and July 2024, closing date for application: 10 September 2023.
This is the last round of applications as the project ends in 2025.
