Bachelor's thesis / Student research project
Supervisor: Jan-Linus Popien
Battery research is one of the key future-oriented fields of our time: without efficient and sustainable energy storage, neither electromobility, nor the energy transition, nor digital innovations can succeed. Across the globe, research institutions, companies, and governments are investing in technologies to improve range, charging speed, and resource efficiency.
Braunschweig plays a particularly important role in this context: with its strong academic institutions, close ties to industry, and a dynamic research ecosystem, the city is an important hub for battery technologies. At the same time, it is crucial to highlight its strengths, realistically assess existing challenges, and identify future potential.
This bachelor thesis will therefore conduct a comprehensive market analysis of battery research. The goal is to uncover opportunities and challenges and to derive concrete perspectives for the further development of Braunschweig as a key research location.
