This two-week program (June 28–July 11, 2026) offers students an immersive English-language experience grounded in real-world, place-based learning.
Hosted at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, the program brings together participants from around the world to explore American culture in the Heartland during the United States’ 250th anniversary of independence. Through experiential, place-based learning, participants develop English skills by engaging daily with university students, faculty, and community members while taking part in cultural activities, site visits, and community-based learning in Omaha and nearby Lincoln. From museums, arts, sports, and civic spaces to nonprofit organizations, small businesses, and everyday neighborhoods, participants gain insight into how American culture is lived and shared in the Midwest.
