FAQ General examination regulations

FAQs on changes in the general part of the examination regulations

Since 01.04.2018 there is a new general part of the examination regulations (Allgemeiner Teil der Prüfungsordnung, APO). Division 1 (legal department) and the office of the presidium (GdP) have answered the questions collected by the students regarding the changes in the APO.

General Questions

Why has the APO of the TU Braunschweig been changed?

There were changes in the regulations of the Kultusministerkonferenz (e.g. recognition regulations § 6), which had to be implemented at the universities and required a change in the corresponding regulations in the APO. The faculties and also the students also introduced changes to regulations which caused problems in the subjects in terms of content or administration.

Is there a transitional arrangement for students?

There is no general transitional arrangement. Since 01.04.2018, the new General Part of the Examination Regulations has applied to all students at TU Braunschweig, regardless of which APO version applied at the beginning of their studies. There is only one specific transitional regulation for § 6 Para. 9. The transitional regulation is contained in § 24: "If an examination or a stay abroad for study purposes has already been started, § 6 Para. 9 is not applicable".
