Funding line 1: Seed Funding Call Ecosystem

Background

The call for proposals as part of the Impulsfonds supports the goal of the “Strategic Development of Potential” initiative to promote cross-institutional collaboration in research projects and to sustainably anchor cooperation in the regional ecosystem with at least one regional non-university research institution in and around Braunschweig. Depending on the focus of the research project, it is also possible to extend this regional centering to Lower Saxony in general (e.g. with the Max Planck Institutes, the Fraunhofer Institutes, the Helmholtz Association sites or the Leibniz Association institutions in Lower Saxony). Researchers should be encouraged to share knowledge and skills and to adopt new perspectives when developing innovative ideas and working on research questions beyond the boundaries of TU Braunschweig.

Through the funding program, TU Braunschweig wants to offer its scientists the opportunity to enter into targeted collaborations in the ecosystem and create an incentive to jointly develop new research projects. In addition to the further development of joint research topics, the aim is also to sustainably strengthen TU Braunschweig as a science location and make it fit for the future. The funding should be the prelude to applying for further joint research funding and lead to joint publications.

First funding round Seed Funding Call Ecosystem

15 projects funded in the first round of the Seed Funding Ecosystem

The first round of the “Ecosystem” funding program was successful: a total of 27 projects from a wide range of disciplines and subjects at the Technische Universität Braunschweig submitted their applications together with non-university research institutions in and around Braunschweig. 15 of them have now received approval for the ten-month funding of around € 20,000.
