Academic publishing is one of the core functions of research and plays a vital role in the overall portfolio of TU Braunschweig and its researchers in terms of showcasing research activities and priorities and ensuring their visibility.
To this end, the University Library at TU Braunschweig is working to establish a centralized system for recording publication data. The resulting University Bibliography is part of the project to introduce a Research Information System (FIS) and will eventually be directly linked to the FIS via an interface to avoid duplicate entries. TU Braunschweig aims to create a transparent and as complete as possible record of the publications of its researchers and the university.
In addition to the technical infrastructure, the mandatory reporting requirement for publications, established by a decision of the Executive Board in March 2023, lays the foundation for the completeness of the data to be visualized in the FIS. In the FIS, researchers will have the opportunity to present not only publications but also other research achievements, such as research projects and other research activities, in the form of profiles. The “Publications” section is thus not the sole but a central indicator of research output.
The University Library of TU Braunschweig assists researchers in using the University Bibliography and supports them in implementing the requirements of the Executive Board resolution. Below you will find guidance as well as information on training sessions, if needed or of interest.
