Strengthening the metabolic research

The first German Society for Metabolome Research e.V. (DGMet) was founded in the BRICS (Braunschweig Integrated Centre of Systems Biology). The initiators and organizers Prof. Jerzy Adamiski from the Helmholtz Zentrum München and Prof. Karsten Hiller from the TU Braunschweig / Helmholtz Center for Infection Research want to use the consortium to strengthen research on metabolism and to better network metabolomics researchers with the aim of promoting collaborative research.

At the founding meeting in BRICS, the DGMet executive committee, consisting of six members from the ten founding members, was elected from 60 metabolite researchers attended the meeting. This was followed by an international metabolomics symposium, with international scientists presenting their research and exchanged new ideas and contacts. Participating BRICS research groups:
