Pre-course in mathematics for first-year physics students

Pre-course in mathematics for first-year physics students

On 2–6 (except 3) and 9–13 October 2023, the mathematics pre-course for first-year physics students (1-subject and 2-subject Bachelor) will take place in lecture theatre MS 3.1 from 9 am to 4 pm.

The pre-course offers the opportunity to increase computational confidence and speed before things get serious in your studies. You also have the opportunity to make contact with fellow students in advance. In accompanying information events, you will learn interesting facts about the physics degree programme and can familiarise yourself with the university. Participation is voluntary, but attendance is recommended to all future students.

In addition, you can also participate in the Online Mathematics Bridge Course OMB+ to prepare for your studies.

DPG and KFP recommend participation in OMB+

If you want to start studying physics, the German Physical Society (DPG) and the Conference of all German Physics Departments (KFP) recommend that you prepare for your entry into the university as early as possible with the Online Mathematics Bridge Course OMB+.

The course consists of explanatory texts with many examples, interactive pictures, exercises and tests with which you can test your skills yourself. All terms are explained in the course, you do not need any additional aids.
