Notes on People Search

Function and setting possibilities of the people search

• The people search shows only those members of the TU Braunschweig who have explicitly consented to the public presentation.
• Registered members of the TU Braunschweig see the complete personal data of all TU members after authentication (login).

• This setting also applies to automatic contact boxes and automatic person lists that can be integrated on the web pages of the TU Braunschweig: automatic contact boxes of members of the TU Braunschweig who have not agreed to a public presentation of their personal data are not displayed to users if they are not logged in/authenticated on the web page. Similarly, persons who have not agreed to the public display will not be displayed in the automatic lists of persons if the user is not logged in.

• If your data (name, telephone number, email address) is to be found by any guests from the Internet, or if your automatic contact box or your entry in an automatic list of persons is to be displayed directly, you must first give your consent. You can set this in the user data service of the Gauss IT Centre.
• In the Gauss IT Center user data service, you can also set your phone number if it changes.
• Changes regarding your assignment to an institute or institution can be made by your responsible IT coordinator in the Coordinator Data Service. Here you can also deregister persons who no longer belong to your organisational unit.
