Waste and Resource Management

Waste and Resource Management

Welcome to the Division of Waste and Resource Management!

Our division is committed to protecting nature and conserving natural resources, and addresses the requirements on modern waste management posed by climate change, the energy transition, resource security, and the goal of a sustainable society.

In research, teaching, and continuing education, we focus on current issues related to waste management and its impacts on resource, environmental, and climate protection. In teaching, we offer lectures on environmental protection, circular economy, life cycle assessments, geology, mechanical/thermal/biological waste treatment, international waste management, biomass utilization, air pollution control, landfill technology, and contaminated site remediation. We supervise BSc and MSc theses.

Regarding capacity building, special mention should be made of the freely available e-learning website teach4waste (https://teach4waste.com/), which, with its open educational resources (OER) materials, makes a significant contribution to the dissemination of knowledge in the field of waste management
