Registration

Please use the following application form to apply for the International Autumn School 2026. After completing the registration form, please send it to summerschool(at)tu-braunschweig.de.

Cancellation

If you cancel your registration up to six weeks before the course starts, you will receive a full refund (minus transfer fees). If you cancel your registration up to two weeks before the course starts, we will retain an additional processing fee of 200 euros. If you cancel later than two weeks before the start of the course, unfortunately, a refund of the course fees is no longer possible.

Scholarships for the International Autumn School

Students from partner regions of the state of Lower Saxony have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship for the International Autumn School:

The scholarship for students from the Eastern Cape (South Africa) and Tanzania covers the course fee, the teaching materials, the leisure and excursion programme as well as accommodation in Braunschweig and travel to and from Braunschweig. Any additional costs, including the costs of applying for a passport and visa as well as any necessary insurance, are to be covered by the participants themselves.

To apply for a scholarship, please send your application with the following documents to summerschool(at)tu-braunschweig.de by 30 April 2026:

signed application form (download, PDF)
letter of motivation (max. 2 A4 pages)
current CV
current transcript of records (max. 3 months old)
scan of passport (alternatively: national ID card)
current photo of yourself (passport format)
certificate of enrollment from your university

In your letter of motivation, please explain why you would like to participate in the International Autumn School and what impact your stay in Germany would have on your future studies and career.

The scholarship for students from the Netherlands, the provinces of Greater Poland and Lower Silesia (Poland), the Normandy region (France), the Valencia region (Spain), the state of Sao Paulo (Brazil) and Santa Fe (Argentina) covers the course fee and accommodation in Braunschweig. Students pay a participation fee of €300, which covers the teaching materials as well as the leisure and excursion programme. Any additional costs, including the costs of applying for a passport and visa as well as any necessary insurance, are to be covered by the participants themselves.

In your letter of motivation, please explain whether you have already planned a study visit to a university in Lower Saxony, why you have decided to do so, and what impact the stay in Germany will have on your future studies and career.

Are you studying at TU Braunschweig after Autumn School?
The Studierendenwerk OstNiedersachsen operates ten halls of residence in Braunschweig with over 2,200 places and 20 guest rooms. You can find an overview of all halls of residence and the online application form at https://stw-on.de/en/braunschweig/housing. Apply in good time, as some halls of residence have long waiting lists! You can do this before you receive your place at university and it does not commit you to anything.
Are you only staying for the duration of the Autumn School?
We are happy to help you find a private room in a family or shared flat for the duration of the summer school. These rooms are equipped with a bed, pillow, blanket, wardrobe and usually also bed linen and a workspace (table and chair). You will usually share the kitchen and bathroom with your host family or flatmates. The cost of this type of accommodation is between 600 and 800 euros per month. You will discuss the details of the rental agreement and house rules directly with your landlord. If you are interested in this type of accommodation, please indicate this directly on the registration form.
