This module provides an overview of computer-aided aids for the design of mechanical components and sensitizes them to their sensible use. Possibilities are shown, but the limits and dangers in use are defined. For this purpose, the basics of calculation (general standards or guidelines) and the resulting restrictions are presented. In this context, the designer’s duty of care and liability rules are discussed in particular.
The students can select different computer-aided tools for design and optimization and in a targeted manner and apply them systematically. They are aware of the respective areas of application, possibilities, and limits of the tools, as well as the rights and obligations of the user.
Places for the event will be allocated by lottery. You will be able to enter the lottery via Stud.IP again in the winter semester of 2026. The exact date will be announced in due course.
The lecture will be offered as a block course in the winter semester 26/27. The blocks are divided as follows:
1st block - Introduction
2nd block - SysML, Mathcad
3rd block - Gear design using eAssistant
4th block - Exam/Fair
In addition, optional practice sessions will be offered where you will have the opportunity to use the LK 6.2 computer pool room.
