The two-hour lecture Bionic methods of optimization and information processing is aimed at students of engineering and nature sciences, computer science, and other disciplines. The lecture will be an introduction in the fields of bionic, an overview of the numeric optimization methods and other information processes derived from nature like mutation-selection-principle, the cool down of melted materials, the information processing in the brain of primates, and the behavior of individuals and groups. Based on the biological principles, the application to calculation methods is explained and their application is demonstrated through examples.
