Promotionsthema

Die Hybridbauweise bietet für die Automobilindustrie durch den Einsatz mehrerer Materialien innerhalb eines Bauteils neben Leichtbauaspekten eine Vielzahl weiterer Potentiale. Durch deren Kombination mit Strukturmaterialien kommen auch Materialien in Karosserien zum Einsatz, die in monolithischer Bauweise keine Anwendungen finden. Bei einer Kombination von beispielsweise Metallen, Kunststoffen und Faser-Kunststoff-Verbunden können gezielt die unterschiedlichen spezifischen Eigenschaften genutzt werden, um zusätzliche und sogar widersprüchliche Funktionen zu realisieren. Somit ergeben sich neue Möglichkeiten zur Gestaltung von multifunktionaler Strukturbauteile, die zuvor maßgeblich mechanische Funktionen erfüllt haben. Durch die Einsparung zusätzlicher Komponenten für die Funktionserfüllung können zusätzlich Gewicht, Bauraum und Kosten gespart werden, sodass die Funktionsintegration einen entscheidenden Beitrag zu einer wirtschaftlichen Hybridbauweise leistet.

Bei der Entwicklung multifunktionaler Strukturbauteile reicht eine bloße Anpassungskonstruktion von Vorgängerbauteilen jedoch nicht mehr aus. Es bedarf vielmehr einem Umdenken und einer Neuentwicklung, um das volle Potential auszuschöpfen. Zudem müssen die zusätzlichen nicht-strukturellen Funktionen in den Fokus rücken.

Die entscheidenden Fragen sind hierbei:

  • Wie lassen sich multifunktionale Strukturbauteile zielführend entwickeln,
  • welche Umsetzungsmöglichkeiten gibt es für nicht-strukturelle Funktionen und
  • welche Auswirkungen hat die Funktionsintegration auf das Bauteil bzw. die Umgebung?
