The KIARA transfer project is developing an AI-based knowledge assistant for the development of vehicle electrical/electronic architectures (EEA). The system is designed to consolidate technical information from various sources, identify relevant connections, and answer developers’ questions in a clear and context-sensitive manner. It takes into account both structured data—such as that from relational databases as well as MBSE and PLM tools—and unstructured data.
Runtime: 09/2025 to 02/2027
The development of modern vehicles is characterized by a growing number of interconnected software, electronic, and hardware components. This also increases the volume and complexity of development information. The required data is often scattered across various systems and documents. Relationships between functions, signals, components, and other development artifacts are not always explicitly modeled and sometimes must be determined through a labor-intensive manual process.
KIARA is therefore investigating how an AI-based knowledge assistant can facilitate access to this information and also support more complex analytical queries. The central question is how heterogeneous and, in some cases, incompletely linked development data can be processed and organized in such a way as to generate reliable, traceable, and context-sensitive answers.
